History of the Fallow deer project

Origins

In 2021, 4 fallow deer and a female Sika deer arrived in our park. They arrived from Naturlàndia (Andorra) and were urgently looking for a new home.

Naturlàndia closed the zoological area of its park, so the animals had to find a new home. Zoo officials found new parks for all animals except for:

  • Two pregnant fallow deer.
  • A female Sika deer with a broken hip.

The caretakers of Naturlàndia contacted us to take in these animals. If not, their future could have been uncertain.

Desperate solution

Logically, we decided to welcome the fallow deer and the female Sika deer. But due to the urgency of the case, it was necessary to create a temporary space. This space was not enough to cover all the needs as it was too small for them to run freely.

On the other hand, while we were fixing the fostering papers, the two females gave birth. The two fawns were two beautiful males, but this fact further aggravated the situation in which our fallow deer found themselves.

Economic problems

Although we tried since the arrival of the animals to provide them with a new facility, it was not possible for us due to the high cost involved.

Donation form

We have raised enough funds and are finishing up the new space.

A big thank you to everyone who participated in the fundraiser and made this world a better home for animals.
