At the Zoo of the Pyrenees we rescue wild animals. We do not distinguish between species, every life is valuable and we all have the right to live: humans as well as animals.

The expenses are immense. We receive no support from the administration for our work.

Animals that arrive at our rescue centre

Babies

Some of them are chicks that have fallen from the nest, small orphans or young abandoned by their mother as a result of human intervention.

We accompany them for the time they need until their emancipation and their reincorporation into nature.

Every spring we receive hundreds of hatchlings that need a little help before they return to the wild.

Injured animals

Another part is injured animals. Our team of professionals gives them the veterinary care they need.

Once cured, we offer them the necessary conditions for a proper recovery to return to the wild.

Oscar suffered an accident on the road and came to us with multiple injuries. He had a slow recovery, the infection did not want to recede. Today he is happily running through the woods again: wild and undisturbed.

Animals that have suffered serious consequences

Unfortunately, it is not possible to save them all. Some animals suffer very serious physical and mental consequences. Their return to nature would be a condemnation of death.

In this case they stay in our refuge where we take care of them for life.

Animals with no chance of being saved

Animals with a very serious prognosis and almost no chance of survival are treated with the utmost respect.

We seek the most ethical way possible to release them from their suffering.

Freeing animals from pain is part of our work. With your donation you make it possible.
It is not all victories in our day-to-day lives. This badger came to us after hitting a car. We could not save his life.
