Areas of internship
Changing the world is not an easy task and we have to work on many fronts. Consequently we are looking for students from diverse backgrounds. Currently these are three areas. We specify the tasks that will be part of your working day.
Marketing
We are developing the communication system both online and offline. Do you want to give us a hand? We put our experience and you put your knowledge and your time.
Environment and forest management
- Animal feeding
- Cleaning of the facilities
- Training and environmental enrichment of the animals in the refuge.
- Customer service.
- Participation in activities aimed at family audiences and schools.
Veterinary care
- Feeding, cleaning and medical treatment of animals destined for release.
- Training and environmental enrichment of the animals that live in the refuge.
- Follow-up of the evolution of the animals.
- Process improvement proposals.

Superior grade formative cycle
Are you studying a higher education program that fits into the above-mentioned fields? We would be delighted to have your support.
Specialized courses
Are you attending a private center of specialized courses for future professions in the fields of wildlife or veterinary assistant? We want to meet you.
Requirements for trainees
Language
You are welcome to join our team wherever you come from. But this much: we must be able to communicate with you easily in one of these languages:
- Catalan
- Spanish
- English
Driving license and own vehicle
The place where we are located is beautiful, but far from the towns. It is essential that you have a driver’s license and a car, a motorcycle or a helicopter to be able to reach the work center.
Age for internship contract
You must be at least 18 years old.
Remuneration of internships
Until the legislation forces us, the internship at the Zoo of the Pyrenees has no financial compensation. You will be part of a team of great professionals. You will not be bringing us coffees, but you will acquire valuable knowledge and experience for your professional future.
Accommodation
The Zoo of the Pyrenees is far from the big cities. For this reason we have arranged accommodation for you for the duration of your internship. It is a bungalow in the Camping La Comella in Cambrils in the Pyrenees, 17 km from our center. Obviously it is essential that you have a driving license and a car.
Our Foundation will cover the cost of the rent and you will only have to assume the cost of electricity and water consumption.
Personalized support during your internship
We know that entering the working world is not easy. We welcome only 2 interns at a time. This way we can give you a training adapted to your level of knowledge. Even so, we expect you to quickly assume responsibilities and show autonomy in the tasks prepared for you.
Internship day in the company
The internship will have the duration foreseen in the syllabus and can be carried out throughout the year. Of course you can also join us after your internship as a volunteer.
The usual working schedule is from Monday to Friday. Depending on the student’s interest, it can be done on a full or part-time basis. You can choose the one you prefer.
Full time
It is the same working schedule of our professional team. Its schedule is from 9:00-14:00 in the morning and in the afternoon from 15:00-18:00.
Part-time
The change between your attendance in the classroom and the reality of work is abrupt. If this is the first time you will be working, we recommend you to take a part-time position. You will work 5 hours per day from 9:00-14:00h with 1/2 hour for breakfast.
